Al-Azhar Rolls Out Digital Parenting Bootcamp 2026
Two-Day Empowerment Workshop Holds 1st & 15th August as School Responds to Parents' Call for Digital Safety Training
From the Desk of Management | School Manager, Al-Azhar School, Kano
The Management of Al-Azhar School, Kano has concluded plans to host a two-day Digital Parenting Bootcamp 2026 for parents and guardians of pupils and students across the Nursery, Primary, and Secondary Sections, following a request made by parents during the last meeting of the Al-Azhar Mothers' Forum.
The Bootcamp, themed “Protecting Children in the Age of Social Media & Artificial Intelligence,” has been designed to equip parents with the knowledge and practical skills required to guide and protect their children in today's rapidly evolving digital world.
Management noted that as children increasingly interact with smartphones, social media, online gaming, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), it has become imperative for parents to understand both the opportunities and the challenges that come with these technologies.
To make participation more convenient for parents, the Bootcamp will hold over two Saturdays — 1st and 15th August, 2026 — with four core training modules delivered on each day, ensuring participants complete all eight modules by the end of the programme.
Day One, holding 1st August, will feature The Digital Generation, Social Media Masterclass, Monitoring Children's Digital Footprint, and the Al-Azhar Parent Portal Masterclass. Day Two, holding 15th August, will cover Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Safety, Digital Wellbeing, and Islamic Parenting in the Digital Age.
Beyond the training sessions, participants will also receive practical, hands-on guidance on digital supervision tools, as well as the effective use of the Al-Azhar Parent Portal for monitoring attendance, academic performance, homework, behaviour reports, fee status, and other important school information.
A participation fee of ₦2,500 per parent/guardian, per session, has been fixed for the programme, covering training materials, administrative expenses, and a certificate of participation for every attendee.
Parents and guardians of pupils and students in all three sections of the school are enjoined to participate fully, as Management reaffirms its commitment to building a digitally responsible school community where parents, teachers, and students work together to keep children safe, informed, and empowered online.
